Detachment Fund Raising
The Marine Corps League (MCL), the only Federally chartered Marine Corps related veterans organization in the country, is a not-for-profit organization within the provisions of the Internal Revenue Service Code 501(c)(4). It has a special group exemption letter allowing tax deductible contributions by a donor to the MCL, its Auxiliary and subsidiary units. Based in Merriweather, Virginia, it is listed in Publication 78, Cumulastive List of Organizations, described in Section 1230(c) of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Code of 1986, which is a list of organizations eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions. This Detachment is a duly authorized subsidiary of the MCL.
Members of this Detachment, and the MCL, are joined together in camaraderie and fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and promoting the interests of the United States Marine Corps. They support our efforts to effectively promote the ideals of American freedom and democracy, voluntarily render aide and assistance to all Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and FMF Navy Chaplains and former Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and FMF Navy Chaplains (including surviving partners and orphans); to perpetuate the history of the United States Marine Corps; and by fitting acts to observe the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to United States Marines.
This Detachment needs your help to allow us to continue to support our charitable efforts in Hall County, Georgia, including the annual Toys for Tots campaign.
Contact the Detachment Officers if you want to attend and support an event, donate item(s) for sale at a Detachment yard sale or donate money to the Detachment.
